Three things to know about before diving into my writing:

 

     1. I write as I think. Sometimes, I even feel as though my fingers move before my neurons.

     2. I am a nut for syntax – I may make errors when experimenting with new or “bold” punctuation. Try to stick with me?

 

     3. I love to write.

​

     If anything, I hope those three facts about my writing highlight the authenticity of my work. Above all else, I aim to tell the truth. My favorite thing to write is a hearty personal essay, as who else is better equipped to tell my truth than me? In high school I took a keen interest in narrative non-fiction, specifically profile pieces. I loved the feeling of writing what I might not be able to say aloud; that is, telling the truth through my eyes without a social filter. In the case of the Great Horizons pilot episode script which can be found in the e-portfolio, that truth may be deeply convoluted and baked within cheap jokes or a character’s rambling. That being said, I hope you look close enough to see that all of my stories have value.
